Quality during production :

Production in clean rooms
Room in which the numerical concentration of airborne particles is controlled. Clean rooms are classified according to the cleanliness of their air: from ISO 1 to ISO 9. These clean rooms ensure a high level of non-contamination, according to their ISO class level. Sterilisation: by gamma or beta radiation. Ionisation is a physical treatment by the action of ionising radiation from radioelements or particle accelerators on food and food packaging. This makes it possible to extend the shelf life of the food or improve its hygiene, without raising the temperature or using chemicals. The main feature of ionisation is that the product can be processed in its final packaging, even when palletised. Necessary conditions: products packed in double bags / maximum pallet height of 2m.

Food regulations/food compatibility

Migration tests to ensure consumer safety in the food sector must be carried out. The producer of the final product must check the absence of migration of certain compounds at risk, in the content (finished product) of the packaging, when it is in liquid or powder form. These migration tests are :
Specific : when they are carried out with the chemical product whose migration must be tested. Global : when they concern a set of chemical substances, or a set of simulants.

Approvals

Mechanical : test which varies, depending on the type of raw material and the type of product, and which makes it possible to check the solidity of dangerous goods packaging to the usual shocks and stresses during handling and transport (Tests: drop test, watertightness test, internal pressure test, stacking test, chemical compatibility test, etc.).

A report (PV) is issued showing the marking positioned on the packaging.

Chemical : test that checks the compatibility of dangerous materials with packaging by assimilating the hazardous material to one or more reference liquids.
Tests carried out with the 6 reference liquids: water/wetting solution/acetic acid/hydrocarbon mixture/n-butyl acetate/nitric acid 55%.
