360° focus on eco-design: understanding the impact of the So green range

CVP commits itself on a daily basis to all its stakeholders to develop a more positive activity. This includes the development of eco-responsible and 360° eco-designed packaging. To achieve this, CVP relies on our CSR commitments and our various certifications.

Eco-conception 360°

Eco-design is an innovative approach characterised by the integration of environmental criteria from the design phase or during the re-design of a product in order to reduce its environmental impact throughout its life cycle, while maintaining the quality of use of the product and its level of performance.

It is with this eco-design approach that we develop new 360° eco-designed products with our partners.

In 2010, we wanted to measure the carbon impact of our activity on the environment. This was an integral part of our DNA and consistent with our core business, which is to provide our customers with "anticipatory and daily solutions in plastic packaging with a positive impact".
The tool developed, in partnership with ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency), immediately allow us to have a unitary carbon footprint for all packaging launched and delivered on the market.

We consider all of our workstations: processes, materials transformed, employee travel, consumables, energy, etc.
This has determined the priority areas on which our teams work every day.

Our engagements

We have made a commitment on  :

  • To sort our operating waste (paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, batteries, printer cartridges, computer equipment...)
  • To manage our energy expenditure by adopting a responsible attitude (reducing paper consumption, encouraging the sending of documentation by email, HQE building, etc.).
  • To be invested in basic consumer equipment.
  • A investir dans du matériel base consommation.
  • Preferably offer products whose components are sensitive to respect for nature (plant matter/recycled material, etc.). All plastic raw materials that do not have one or more proven solutions for recycling and/or reuse are excluded.
  • Sorting our scrap and plastic waste from packaging production (recovery by an external service provider who recycles them into second life granules).
  • To promote environmentally friendly modes of transport: train, car sharing, 2 bicycles available to the teams...
  •  To develop bio-sourced raw materials, two of the characteristics of which are that they are a carbon trap and require less energy to manufacture the packaging found in the SO GREEN by CVP rangecf > SO GREEN by CVP
  • Prefer local suppliers in order to reduce the environmental impact of transport.
  • To be an active member of Euramatrials on new materials: CVP is actively involved in the creation of an innovative industrial sector including a manufacturer of bio-sourced materials, a transformer-manufacturer of bottles using a technological process and a conditioner of cleaning products. www.euramaterials.eu
  • To always offer our customers, as an alternative, the least polluting services and products possible: we are working on reducing the weight of packaging while complying with current French, European and international legislation. But also by preserving the properties linked to the constraints and requirements of our customers (top-load, screwing, UN approvals, chemical certifications, etc.).

Our results

In 2019: total CO² emissions (all materials combined) = 4782.1 T CO².
Concrete result by switching to So GREEN for 2018

  • In 2018: total CO² emission (all materials combined) = 6458.62 T CO².
Concrete result by switching to So GREEN for the year 2018
  • In 2019: total CO² emissions (all materials combined) = 4782.1 T CO².
Concrete result by switching to So GREEN for the year 2019

(the technical/CO2 characteristics are not contractual and can be modified at any time according to the evolution of the indicators).

LCA enables an assessment of the environmental impacts of a product/service considering all the stages of its life cycle from the extraction of the raw material to its end of life.

LCA takes its origins in the life cycle of a product.

We have created a module to calculate together the LCA of your empty or packaged products. For more information contact Anaïs Lehembre: alehembre@cvp-france.com

CVP is working on new product & service solutions with the aim of reducing resources and increasing well-being and economic development in a circular economy perspective.

Solutions combining goods and services, focused on use and performance.

Design highlights the use of a product and the services it provides by making recommendations that take into account the use, life expectancy and distribution method of the new packaging.

Eco-design is integrated upstream of the projects for a global vision of the new product to improve the final customer experience.
